This one-bedroom apartment is a property that personally belongs to the interior designer who does all the interior design work for A La Carte Paris, so you can be certain of the standard of this Paris home.
The apartment is located on the 4th french floor (with elevator) of a classical carved stone Haussmann style building, located in the 9th district. From metro Cadet, it is 2 short stops on line 7 to the "Grands Magasins" of Printemps and Galeries Lafayette on boulevard Haussmann, not to mention the Palais Garnier Opera House. Line 7 then continues to Louvre, Marais and Ile Saint Louis. If you prefer to enjoy the view with a bus, a choice of several will also take you directly to Opera, Palais Royal, Louvre, Madeleine, Concorde, etc.
In the immediate vicinity of the apartment you will find good cafés and restaurants, a choice of two bakeries, food shopping with a market street just around the corner featuring a great cheese shop, a fresh roasted chicken stall, and of course fresh fruit and vegetables.
The floorplan is ideal, with an entrance hall distributing onto the spacious living room, the large bedroom with queen-sized bed and thick top-quality mattress, the fully-equipped kitchen ideal for cooking fans, and the bathroom with a large bath, shower partition and beautiful twin-bassin marble vanity unit.
The bedroom faces a perfectly silent courtyard and there are no noisy neighbors in the building either - a somewhat rare luxury in Paris - so you're sure to sleep well.
We called this apartment "Paris Haussmann" because it showcases all the classical features and gandure of the 1900's Haussmann style: high ceilings, original restored herringbone hardwood floors, original elaborate ceiling moldings, original wall moldings, a wonderful hundred-year old white marble fireplace crowned with its period gold-leaf mirror.
Such grand Haussmannian features are usually the preserve of large high-end family apartments. It is almost unheard of to find these features in a relatively compact (and therefore afforable) property, making this one-bedroom apartment a very rare find indeed.
Once restored, our designer owner then brought this very classical basis right up to date with cool pale grey paintwork, straight pale grey curtains, high-quality modern furniture (including Eames chairs & lounge armchair in fine white aniline leather) and original pieces of modern artwork. The entrance hall adds further flair and visual impact with one wall finished in lipstick-red gloss, upon which are hung a series of contrasting black and white photographs. This really wakes up the matt pale grey of the other walls.
The result is a fascinating mix of classical Haussmann grandure updated with a welcome injection of modern comfort, energy and pizaz.

“We really enjoyed our stay at the Paris Haussmann apartment in late August 2017. We found the apartment full equipped & in a central located area, close to metro & main railway stations. The decor was eclectic & very comfortable, the only criticism we had was the creaking floor boards, but it added to the charm.”
“We had a lovely stay in your Haussmann apartment. The apartment is spacious, well equipped, and the bed was super comfortable. Lots of storage for clothes and suitcases allowed us to spread out and settle in. The neighbourhood was slightly out of the Rue Des Martyrs area we expected to revisit, but this actually enabled us to explore streets we weren't familiar with. We had a lovely and invigorating eight days.”
“A lovely, spacious apartment, and we enjoyed the large living room, bedroom, useful small dining area, full kitchen and washer and dryer. We felt like real Parisians when we stayed there! Although it was not located in the touristy areas, it was in reasonable walking distance from metro stops and even the Gare du Nord, where we caught the RER to the airport when we left. A few minor issues were the noisy street when the windows were open, a sink that didn’t work in the bathroom, and a very small elevator. But we enjoyed our stay!”
“This apartment in the 9th was comfortable and close enough (via Metro) to attractions to be convenient while still giving the feeling of living in the Paris where Parisians live. Proximity to Gare du Nord also a plus for Eurostar trips and airport access. Support from a la Carte was readily available when needed. Overall, a top-notch service offering a very high quality experience.”
“My stay at the Paris Haussmann was everything I had hoped it would be, and more! As soon as I walked through the front door I felt immediately at home. The spacious rooms, the completely outfitted kitchen, cozy bathroom with heated towel bar and large soaking tub, contributed greatly to the well designed layout of the flat. I especially loved the light blocking drapes and bedroom located on the inner courtyard for a quiet night's sleep. Soft colors and comfortable furniture made me not want to leave at the end of my stay. The Eames chair in the living room speaks of the quality of this flat. The attentiveness of the staff is a big plus when renting a flat in Paris. This is my 5th time in Paris, 2nd stay with A La Carte Paris and will always be my 1st choice in agencies for future visits.
I loved living in the neighborhood where the people you see from your balcony are the ones you sit with at the nearby cafes. The wait staff sees you coming and brings your favorite wine and makes a suggestion for dinner. The workers at the Carrefour grocery just around the corner are so helpful in finding things for you and have an amazing variety of fresh goods and staples, even rotisserie chicken (roto poulet ;)
One of the other reasons I chose this flat in the 9th was its proximity to Opera Garnier, only a little over mile away, so easy to walk to or take the metro 3 stops direct. If you are a "senior", remaining seat tickets are available one hour before the performance for 10E! So arrive early if it is a popular one...”
“We would just like to say we absolutely loved our "Paris Haussmann" apartment. The style was modern, classy and very comfortable. We loved the furniture, kitchen, laundry and bathroom. When we were exhausted from our daily Paris adventures we felt we could completely relax. The location was excellent and we were always exploring new areas from our base. Thanks for responding quickly to minor concerns. We have recommended your company to many people and I hope that in the not too distant future we can return.”
“The apartment was fantastic, it was like a second home. Great location and easy to get all around from there. How nice to come home to your own place in the afternoon, relax, read a book in the lovely living room, have the wine, baguette and a different kind of fromage every night. And what a surprise, being able to see the Eiffel Tower from your living room windows. It was great and can't wait to come back again.
You helped make our trip extra special and we both thank you very much. The next time we are thinking of returning to Paris it will definitely be to one of your apartments. ”
“My wife Bonnie and I had a wonderful stay at the Ala Carte Paris Rue Maubeuge apartment in Mid-April. This was our first experience renting an apartment while visiting Paris, and we had previously been to Paris on 5 or 6 other occasions, always staying in hotels.
We will surely be contacting you to rent an apartment thru Ala Carte Paris for all of our future visits to Paris.
Everything was just perfect about our experience. Right from the start when Bruno met us at the door of the apartment, our experience was first class. Bruno greeted us warmly and explained all of the details about the apartment very clearly, and was so helpful in reviewing the apartment brochure that gave further tips about our neighborhood, and helpful information on important city features that would make our stay more pleasant.
Every detail about the apartment made us feel at home. The kitchen was fully furnished and in great shape, the bathroom and shower were perfect, the bed and bedroom was comfortable, the living room was spacious and well furnished. Our front windows offered a view of the Eiffel tower, and Rue Maubeuge below our front windows was never noisy at any hour of the day or night. The apartment complex was quiet and secure.
There were two markets within a stones throw of the apartment building, a pharmacy directly across the street, and 3 to 4 eating establishments also within a stones throw of the front door to the building.
I cannot say enough about how perfect our experience was. We could not have had a more enjoyable stay.”
“My wife and I have been to Paris several times, and this trip was probably our third in the past five years. On our last three trips, we have rented an apartment from "A La Carte Paris." They truly make the planning, arrival, stay, and departure an easy and overall well-planned process.
The apartment is perfect for two adults. It is ideal having a bathroom that contains all of the "fixtures" all in one room. This is something that you do not always find in Paris. And, having two sinks made getting ready really easy. After a long day in Paris, it was great to come back to the apartment since it has an abundance of natural light, good furniture, and it is just very restful.
We spend most of our days simply walking around Paris. The location in the ninth arrondissement, was just about a 20 minute walk from the Louvre (headed directly south from the apartment). The adjacency to Sacre-Coeur and the surrounding neighborhood residential areas make the apartment location perfect for discovery.
My wife and I are both architects, and we found that the quality of the apartment made for an ideal setting for our eight night day.”
“The Paris Haussmann, as its name suggests, is an architectural gem and a great way to experience a bit of Parisian life. Besides all the historic period features, the unit also has the creature comforts of modern life. Due to its layout and high ceilings, it feels much larger and spacious than its actual size. It is a short 10-15 minute walk to the famous Opera / Grand Magasin area or in the opposite direction to the artsy Montmartre mountain tram. If you get tired of walking, then it is steps away from the bus stops and the Cadet metro. The area is also good to get a feel of how the Parisien's live in their daily lives. I especially liked shopping nearby for the local foods and wines, then sampling them back at the apartment. Try the unique Bresse chicken, besides all the wonderful cheeses, wines and also prepared meals. It is fair to say that Paris/France has one of the higher quality food cultures in the world, and this is evident even in everyday shopping”
“Read the reviews and believe, everything other guests have said about this apartment, its location in the 9th, the neighbourhood and A La Carte Paris are spot on. Whatever expectations you take with you will be exceeded. The phone shop across the road where Petros will set you up with a sim for your phone or tablet and the tailor in Rue de la Tour d'Auvergne who will alter or hem any clothes purchases with skill and care, or any of the shops in the Rue des Martyrs, all amazing and so much variety. The fromagerie and food shops with beautifully prepared takeaway food around the corner in rue de Rochechouart. Within a 6 minute walk everything you could possibly need.
Walk and explore, it will intoxicate and seduce you into wanting to live the life of the Parisian. Katy is brilliant, a delight to meet and a pleasure to deal with and the owner has left nothing to chance. When you go, look after this place better than your own, we want to come back. Oh, first thing to do, open those french doors, hang your head out and look right, welcome to Paris.”
“I have nothing to say but wonderful things about A La Carte. The whole booking processes was simple. I recommend getting the airport pick up as the driver was efficient and polite, helped with our bags and had the keys to the apartment, so there was no need to call ahead as he was awaiting at the exit gate upon arrival. I will say that I was a bit hesitant booking an apartment online but once we arrived all that faded away.
Our Paris Haussmann - Stylish Opera apartment was just as pictured, better I would say. I had mentioned we were eloping in Paris and I was greeted with a bottle of Champagne and a box of chocolates. The decore was stunning and impeccable, had all the amenities needed, loved the towel warmer in the bathroom everything very clean and comfortable. It was much more superior to other apartments our friends in our group rented thru Airbnb. We had an amazing time here even hosted a brunch for friends and canceled our reservations with St James Hotel for our wedding, since the apartment was just so beautiful. We got nothing got compliments from both the wedding planner and photographer. It was in a safe area with a groceries store just across and some tasty restaurants right on the same street. There is a taxi stop just feet away from the entrance, and a metro close by so it was very simple with transportation.
It was the best stay we had in France in the 4 times we have been here. We are looking forward to returning to Paris and renting with A La Carte. It was worth every penny.'
“We loved our stay in A La Carte's beautiful apartment! The internet pictures do not do it justice and it's in the best location in Paris, the 9th was everything I had hopped and your handy Paris guide helped even more. We ended up going to quite a few of your recommendations and they were all good, the local neighbourhood is lovely and we found the locals very kind to my below average French. We had so much fun shopping for food and just doing day to day things that you miss if you stay in a hotel and we really discovered a few hidden treasures. I urge all travellers to do yourself a favour and stay in a well run apartment, my partner who was not a huge Paris fan after prior visits says he would buy this apartment in a flash and he was sorry to leave. Once again thank you for all the A La Carte,s teams help, from begin to end I would highly recommend A La Carte and I am already planning my next visit.”
“The welcome bowl of fresh fruit and bottle of wine was much appreciated. Courteous and prompt communication from you and all staff we dealt with, including our greeter Bruno, was excellent. Your website was fantastic and very easy to use. We would definitely use you again and recommend you to our friends”
“My wife and I learned about A la Carte Paris through the recommendation of a friend. We were delighted with the entire experience, from Katy answering our questions, to booking the apartment, to our welcome at the spacious apartment by Jacquie, to our delightful week in the Paris Haussmann apartment, to the neighborhood, and of course to Paris itself. The apartment was exactly as represented on the web site, and included phone, TV, internet, dishwasher, clothes washer and dryer, elevator, and comfortable furniture. The kitchen had all of the supplies we needed. The only surprise we had was that we could see the Eiffel Tower from the window of our apartment! We had a wonderful week and will definitely book our next apartment with A la Carte Paris.”
“What a beautiful apartment you have. We were so lucky to rent it through A La Carte Paris. It was a real pleasure to stay here and all your recommendations were excellenct. The 23 restaurant you recommended was outstanding. We would stay at your place again when we come back to Paris!”
