Recent guest reviews of St Germain Orsay

“The apartment was centrally located in a great area, lots of good shops nearby and within easy walking distance of Musée d'Orsay, the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Notre Dame...In fact, we barely took the Metro at all. It was clean and well-equipped, and remarkably quiet. The team at A La Carte was very helpful and responsive, and I would definitely recommend them for hassle-free vacation planning.”
Elizabeth Taylor from United States
“We enjoyed our stay at St Germain d'Orsay apartment. The location meant we could easily walk along the Seine, to the Louvre and explore the interesting galleries and shops of St Germain. The well equipped space, good natural light and comfortable beds helped make our 10 days in Paris most enjoyable.”

“We had a wonderful stay in the St. Germaine flat. Fantastic location, very clean and comfortable and just as we expected. Extremely convenient to shops, museums, restaurants and transportation.
Thank you for making our Paris stay perfect.”

“We truly enjoyed our stay in St Germain Orsay apartment. It has a great location, walk-able everywhere. The apartment itself is very neat and nicely designed. It has this Paris charm in it, especially looking out of the windows and seing the Paris roofs. The neighborhood is probably one of the nicest ones and feels very safe, no matter how late you walk there. We were always getting home by foot and walking to restaurants, bars and shopping which are all close by. And for the Paris newbies this place is the perfect choice cause it’s just steps away from the main cultural attractions and museums Louvre, Orsay, Grand Palais, Tuilerie gardens! We loved the place and would with no hesitation recommend it to anyone.”

“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the St. Germain Orsay apartment. If one could believe there is something better than Paris in the springtime, it has to be living it like a local and that¹s just what the Orsay apartment meant for us. The location was ideal for visiting the sights on foot and evening walks along the Seine. Plus there are excellent shops
including bakery, cheese shop, chocolatier, grocery stores, etc just a few steps away. When we talked as a family about our top 3 elements of our recent trip, the Orsay apartment appeared in the list for both the parents
and the kids. It really made our vacation!”

“A lovely Parisian apartment, with an amazing host in a beautiful area. We would have loved to have stayed longer!”
Tricia Thomas from Maryland, United States stayed in February 2017
“Two couples stayed at this apartment for five days. It is on the sixth floor. There is one small elevator that can fit one or 2 small people. The building is quiet. The apartment has just enough space. There is a bathroom with a good shower and a sink and a closet with a toilet. We never meet anyone from the management company but they were very responsive to my emails and were very helpful. They greeted us with a nice bottle of wine. The location is great. The neighborhood is quiet with a nice bread coffee shop on the corner. To sum up it's a moderate place with a great location.”
Ashley Begani from Illinois, United States stayed in January 2017
“Our stay at Gemma's flat last week was absolutely wonderful. The location is great, close to a couple authentic restaurants and boulongeries. It is a 2 block walk to the metro which was very convenient although we walked everywhere due to it's central location. The flat was very clean, and we were able to check in early which was so lovely since our flight landed at 8am and there was no one staying the night before. There was a delicious bottle of wine welcoming us on the table! The elevator is tiny and we had a giggle when we used it. Overall, our stay was nearly perfect and we can't thank you enough for this opportunity. So much better than a hotel. Merci!! ”
Jeanie Mulligan from California, United States stayed in January 2017
“Charming Parisian flat in the heart of the city. Walking distance to many beautiful treasures of Paris and conveniently located near all the amenities we required for our stay. Gemma and staff placed much thought and consideration to ensure our stay/check-in/check-out was easy breezy, which was much appreciated. Highly recommend, thank you Gemma!!”

“We enjoyed our 12 night stay at the St Germain Orsay - Fashionable 2bedroom apartment. We were greeted with a box of chocolates and a bottle of wine. The apartment was roomy enough for my wife and myself and our two adult children. There is plenty of closet space and the bathroom is very large and modern. We especially loved the location on a quiet street only about two blocks from the Seine River and very close to a bus stop and several Metro stops. At the end of the block is an Eric Kayser bakery where I would go to get two croissants, two pain au chocolat and a baguette for breakfast every morning. We also loved the fromagerie almost right outside the front door. There are so many great boutiques, chocolate shops, restaurants, cafes and bistros nearby as well as the Bon Marche department store and La Grande Epicerie.

Working with the staff at A La Carte Paris was very seamless and professional. Reservations and booking went without any problems. Instructions for receiving the keys and finding the apartment were very clear.

Please feel free to use the review above as you please. We really did enjoy the apartment but I would offer a couple small criticisms. The directions for using the appliances (washer/dryer, microwave/oven, and heaters) were not very clear. Just to get the dryer unlocked involved pushing a lot of buttons until somehow we unlocked it. We were never sure how to regulate the heat in the apartment. Overall we were very pleased with our accommodations.
Thank you!”

“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this well-furnished, spacious, clean, and well-stocked apartment in a fabulous, private location just steps from the Musee D'Orsay and centrally situated in the heart of the city. The lift to the quiet upper level and the corner boulangerie were wonderful benefits. We tried to imagine any improvements to suggest, and we failed to think of a single one!”
Claudia Vogel Kramer from Guatemala stayed in November 2016
“The best location, cozy apartment and very organized hosts!! Good restaurants nearby, We loved the details, the wine and chocolates, the well equipped kitchen, and everything (except the tiny elevator), but was a different experience. Thank you very much. We loved Paris!”

“When we arrived there was a very nice lady cleaning the apartment (as it was still early) and she was extremely helpful explaining all the practicalities to us. The apartment was very confortable, nicely decorated warm and very clean. There was a bottle of good wine and delicious chocolates as welcome presents. The location was simply perfect. A wonderful Parisian experience!”

“My husband and I stayed at St Germain Orsay for 10 days in October. We loved the apartment and the location. The company is very easy to deal with and very responsive. We will be renting again from A La Carte Paris.”

“A great place to life an authentic Parisian lifestyle. Right in the heart of it, the Louvre, Musee D'Orsay, the river so close by. A wonderful fromagerie, chocolatier, wine bar, deli, fruit store and supermarket steps away. St Germain's wonderful boutiques and some of the most lovely restaurant experiences, modern French brasseries La Bonne Excuse and Cinq Mars only a matter of a few doors away. The apartment was quaint, comfortable, well appointed and furnished and just how we imagined a home should be. We definitely would come back and recommend to others. Katy and co were terrific from start to end.”
Alex Calicchia from United States stayed in August 2016
“Our stay at St. Germain Orsay - 2 Bedroom Apartment did not disappoint. The photos represent the apartment perfectly. The apartment was spacious, comfortable and very quiet. Even though the apartment offers air conditioning, we sleep with the windows open every night. It has a lovely cross-breeze that kept the rooms so cool and comfortable. The furnishing and the decoration were lovely. The location could not have been better with great shops, cafe's and grocery stores so close but without the traffic and chaos of tourist. We are so happy and will be recommending alacarteparis to all our friends. Thank you for all your help with the planning and follow up.”

“I've rented an apartment from A La Carte Paris twice in the last 3 years. In both cases, the Beautiful St Germain Studio and the St Germain Orsay - Fashionable 2 bedroom , the apartments were exactly as described. The furnishings were excellent--from appliances to comfortable beds. I've also appreciated that A La Carte Paris provided a notebook with each rental that contained a wealth of useful information, such as how to operate appliances like the washer/dryer, accessing WIFI, where markets in the area can be found, restaurant suggestions, and many more useful tips for the area. Reservations/bookings and payment were also easy and trouble free. The next time I visit Paris I will not bother looking at other alternatives; I will hope I can stay at one of the A La Carte Paris apartments.
Thanks for another enjoyable stay.”
Lisa & Allan Cody-Rapport from United States stayed in June 2016
“We were very happy with the St Germaine D'Orsay apartment. It was clean, well located just a street behind the Musee D'Orsay, and full of amenities.

The bakery on the corner was a treat every morning and the carry-out from the Indian restaurant a few doors down was a life-saver when we found the nearby supermarkets closed on Sunday. It is midway between Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower, with the Tuilleries Gardens just across the river, so we could walk everywhere with our children (6 and 10 yrs.)

The A la Carte team was wonderful and allowed us to bring our bags to their office for the day when our flight departed in the evening after we had checked out.

This is our third rental with A la Carte in three years and we will never book with any other company - they are worth every penny!”

“Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 young kids ages 8 & 10 yrs) was wonderful! We loved this apartment, street, and neighborhood. The location was even better than we expected with access to all of the things the other reviews mention: AMAZING bakery, cheese shop, chocolate shop, and yes, the fact the Musee d'Orsay & Louvre + Tuileries garden are just steps away was part of the whole appeal. It's also very close to the metro stops so it was perfect for kids to minimize the fatigue. With the kids, I was concerned about noise level too but this apt was as promised, SO quiet! Facing a beautiful courtyard, there was absolutely no street noise or noise from other apartments. We slept with windows open some nights which was so nice. The entire renting experience was very smooth, and Katy and the team were so helpful and responsive to our questions! One small thing to be aware of is that the floor of the apartment is actually very slanted, due to the age of the building & settling I'm sure. It was fine and only added to the charm. The apartment was just right for us and I would definitely rent again or recommend to any friend -- it was a delight to stay in such a residential, beautiful area and imagine we were not tourists. Thank you Katy!”
Laura Torgerson from Texas, United States stayed in May 2016
“This small, sweet apartment was located in a great area walking distance to everything, especially the D'Orsay which is in its backyard. (Sadly, it was closed due to the Seine flooding.) The apartment is well-appointed with everything a guest could need. Our girls had the twin beds in the one bedroom and we had the other bed which appeared to be a king-size. The unit is up six floors off of a quiet street with several other tenants who were all friendly. There is a small elevator large enough for one adult and one large suitcase, or two people. The furniture is in good condition and overall looks new. The apartment was very clean, the kitchen was stocked with plates, cups, pots and pans and such. There is a washer/dryer unit but we did not use it. The dishwasher works well and is self-explanatory. There is only one bathroom but it is very modern and new with a great shower. Toilet is separate. Eric Kayser Boulangerie is on the corner and was a daily morning ritual for my girls for the best croissants, pan e chocolate, macaroons and best bread. Good coffee there too but there is a coffee maker in the apartment with filters. Monoprix is a great little grocery store with wonderful produce, good wine selection, nice cheeses and fresh pasta, along with fresh squeezed orange juice and other breakfast items. A La Carte put together an excellent booklet with maps, appliance instructions, recommendations, etc. They provided absolutely everything someone would need. We highly recommend this apartment (and location) and would stay again in the future.”

“We had a great two week stay in a la carte's D'Orsay apartment. The apartment itself is comfortable. The furnishings are not what i would call luxurious but certainly adequate. There were four of us and while not particularly spacious, the overall ambience was helped a great deal by the wall of back windows that made the space airy and full of light. The bathroom and kitchen were well outfitted and the beds were very comfortable.

But the real star of this apartment is its location. It is central to major sites yet tucked away on a very quiet side street with little traffic and the bonus of no parking. It is just a block behind the musee d'Orsay and the Seine, and a ten minute walk to the entrance to the Louvre and Orangerie. Two or three times we had our breakfast in the peaceful morning quiet of the Tulleries gardens. All the necessities are within a two block area including a boulangerie, wine store, chacuterie, and fromagerie at the end of the block, and a supermarket very near by.

Our experience with the a la carte staff was excellent. They promptly and cheerfully replied to all my questions and even came on a Sunday afternoon to double check a concern I had about the toilet (which turned out to be fine) I would not hesitate to rent from them again”

“Our stay at this apartment was amazing! Katy and her team do everything to make this apartment very accommodating, including providing area maps, instructions for everything in the unit, and leaving behind a number of Paris guide books. The apartment is very quiet and feels quite large. We had a few breakfasts and dinners in the apartment (there's a great place nearby to get freshly prepared foods, which worked out for quick and easy dinners), and the kitchen was stocked with all of the cooking utensils anyone would need. The apartment is in a perfect location, which includes very close distance to two different subway lines, the main museums, a grocery store, countless restaurants, and an Eric Kayser bakery. We will definitely stay here on our next trip to Paris!”

“Wonderful location, close to everything, shops, museums, Metro just a short walk away. We felt like we were living like regular Parisians for the days that we stayed. The bakery at the end of the road is fabulous!
There was an ample supply of towels, kitchen/cooking utensils and the booklet describing how to use the various things in the apartment and how to get around the local area was very helpful.”

“We enjoyed a great stay in this property, the location was perfect and the building and decor charming. Lots of towels and everything you needed for a great stay. The book with lots of tips and maps was very useful too. I would recommend this property to friends and will stay again.”

“The apartement has an amazing location, really in the center of St. Germain on a calm street. You can find small restaurants, cafes, shops and museums just around the corner. It is beautiful decorated and has comfy beds. I will for sure rent this apartement again. Thank you Katy.”

“My daughter, my sister and I stayed in the St. Germain Orsay apartment for five nights. The location is ideal. It is just two short blocks from the Seine, in the very centrally located 7th arrondissement. The apartment was a quiet getaway from the bustling streets. We found it cozy and inviting. The beds were comfortable, the place was toasty and warm on the cool rainy days, the shower was fabulous and the apartment had everything we needed, including a welcoming bottle of wine and chocolates. It was nice to feel like a local for a short week. Everyone we met coming in and going out was genuinely friendly and kind to us temporary residents. We can’t wait to return!”

“I just wanted to let you know that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the St Germain Orsay – Fashionable 2-bedroom apartment on the Rue de Verneuil. The apartment was airy and light and very well equipped with appliances and lots of storage space in every room. I loved looking out toward other apartments and the chimney tops, wondering what was going on inside – in short, it felt as though we were just another family living in Paris. Perhaps the biggest plus of this apartment is its location – within walking distance of the Seine, The Louvre, Museum Orsay and Notre Dame Cathedral. Another plus are the amenities close by – cozy restaurants, a bakery, high class take-away food stores for evenings when one just wanted to stay home with a glass of wine and more than one grocery type store for fresh produce.
Our negotiations with A La Carte Paris went very smoothly. They were very prompt in their responses and also helped us arrange transport to and from the airport.
If returning to Paris I would contact A La Carte again and hope to stay in St Germain Orsay – Fashionable 2-bedroom apartment again.”
Tina Corradino & Michael Stark from United States stayed in June 2014
“Our stay at the St Germain Orsay apartment was absolutely perfect. To begin with having a driver meet us at the airport arranged through your company made the transition into our apartment as smooth as could be. The setup at the apartment, being a 2 bedroom was perfect for myself, my husband, and my sister traveling with us. The location couldn't have been better for all of our plans in the city of Paris. We are grateful that everything we needed was right there in the apartment. It was comfortable, clean and well stocked. We enjoyed many evenings right there at the table with a drink, cheeses, and bread from the local markets. We have already recommended A LA CARTE to friends and family. Merci Beaucoup!”
Gerry & Kelly Fuller/Kimberly from United States stayed in September 2013
“The apartment is right-sized for two adults, but could be a little small for a family unless they really like togetherness. Working with A la Carte Paris to acquiring the rental, checking in and out, and staying at the apartment couldn’t have been easier. The location on a quiet street off St. Germain is perfect, very close to walk and take the subway, we spent so much time on the Right Bank this visits since it was only a 5 minute walk. This was a perfect location for our stay. Thank you so much, we'll be certain to see what is available for our visit next fall.”
Sondra & Pamela McKee/Wilbanks from United States stayed in September 2013
“Two weeks was not long enough for our stay in Paris in our adorable two bedroom apartment on the rue de Verneuil. The location was superb and the apartment itself was charming. We used the car service provided by A La Carte and were very pleased. The driver helped get our bags to and from our apartment, which was no small feat considering we were two women traveling for a month, having just come from an African safari! We were pleased to find our morning croissant only a few steps away, as well as a tempting chocolate shop, grocery stores, fun shopping opportunities, and numerous restaurants. Easy walking distance to St. Germain des Près, the Seine, Museum d'Orsay, etc. Would go back in a heart beat and would certainly recommend A la Carte.”
Jocelyn Snelling from Australia stayed in July 2013
“We loved our stay in Paris although it was very busy. The location was ideal for walking to main attractions including the Louvre, Lock Bridge and St Germain de Prés restaurants and shops... The fridge and cooking facilities were great. We loved the shower too!!”
Hardie Cobbs from United States stayed in May 2013
“We had a wonderful stay and loved this apartment. As this is my 5th apartment rental from you, I feel I am able to speak to many aspects of renting. All of your apartments have been really wonderfully designed, comfortable and well thought out. However, I appreciated the quietness and location of this one in particular. We felt so close to everything yet the quietness of the street was dreamy. The building was well maintained and the other tenants were hardly noticeable. Thank you for all of your help. It was yet another wonderful trip. See you next year, I hope.”
Liz & Matt Collins from United States stayed in June 2012
“We just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed the apartment at rue de Verneuil. The apartment was perfect for us (3 adults, one couple, one single); bright, comfortable, well located. We appreciated the small things like having enough hangers, storage for our clothes, an iron and ironing board, the fruit basket and wine, free internet, and comfortable beds and pillows. The updated kitchen was great, there were enough dishes and glasses for us. We did use the washer/dryer, but did not cook – we only made coffee. The bathroom was exceptional – two great shower options, good lighting so I could actually see myself and nice towels. Really the unit was better appointed than some of the finer hotels we have stayed in.
This unit receives high marks from us. We’ll stay there again and will recommend the apartment and Al la Carte for rental units.”
Dianne O'Keefe from Australia stayed in April 2011
“We found our stay at the St Germain Orsay apartment wonderful, such a lovely area away from the tourist crush and so close to everything with amenities on the door step, everything you could need for a comfortable stay was supplied in the apartment on arrival which did not require a shop straight away, after staying at hotels and apartments in the past in France this was by far the best and dealing with A La Carte was a pleasure - nothing seemed to be a problem, l would not hesitate to recommend this apartment to friends, we also used the Limo service recommended which was also prompt with pleasant and helpful drivers.”
Marilyn & Philippe Boname from Canada stayed in August 2010
“We visit Paris often and had usually stayed in a Relais and Chateau hotel. In the future, we'll always choose one of your apartments, as the flexibility and comfort provided was greatly appreciated. We're not particularly price-sensistive but still appreciated the value for money of the apartment rental option. In reviewing other websites also offering rental accommodation, it seemed clear that yours are the highest quality overall. Well done - you have a new committed customer!”
